To people noticing the comic pages coming along slowly recently. It's because I've been taken on to do graphics for a website. Specifically a DVD store that focuses on selling TV shows. It's name is DVD Universe, and I'd like to share some information about the site.

It's been around for a few years. Not up front in Google search results but it has popularity among it's customers which know of it's good prices and commitment to friendly nice & prompt service. If you visit the store, expect to see a vast variety of shows up for purchasing in seasons or full sets. The site also offers a few other things for sale such as jewelry, shirts and music.

What I've done for it so far is currently being integrated into site coding. It's banner, "cat"egories, main splash image, social media buttons, ect. .

You can check out DVD Universe here:

Two people at least I think wanted to read this when published and that just happened. I don't count on my submitted deviants being noticed at all, @valiant-hellstrom and @blessedout . It's named Shattered, it is not cover art. PDFs display correctly in Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Second and I'm holding my tongue here. Literally the moment I submitted Shattered I got a PM from a person saying about not being able to see my work correctly. Also more than once offered feedback on how I can improve my writing. I am withholding a lot of my own feedback at reading that note. It was months ago getting chewed out by a person who didn't care to read my work but wanted to give feedback how I could improve my work based on their Daily Deviant. ... That is why I chose not to mention Shattered in a writing group on Discord.

I love it when people don't have the patience to read my work but want to tell me what is wrong with it. ... I have the urge to scream right now.

770 Return

Please reply at the end of this journal entry if you read it.

-----------------

Back in the dawn of '06 I took my first big stab at writing in prose format. It was also my first shot at writing a mystery. The story was named, "770 Danger in Numbers". The story became a one shot since I couldn't think of where to go from it but right on it's heels I started working on "Buck Rogers in the 26th Century".

770 has remained a back of the mind note for a long time because of the effort I gave it and how it acted like an odd stepping stone to the next project. It resurfaced in serious thought yesterday in thinking about the Iron and Steel-verse for coming stories. Not a remake of the old story but a story using a little of it's idea in the Iron and Steel-verse.

If you've been following the series you know that for canon ideas, MAD is what started the whole emotional naming bit. HAPPY has been around since the first story and many other groups have also been introduced.

JOY

FURY

RAGE

UNEASY

OKOTTE

UNEASY happened since a few people thought HAPPY was a spy agency and I wanted to say otherwise. HAPPY's role was never intended to look that way so the point was made UNEASY was that group. But very little has been done with it and it's been a mild thought brewing for over a year I tackle that aspect of the AU. Why not give them their own moment to shine in the series?

Already I have a bunch of ideas put together which have UNEASY given it's place with better definition to the AU. Part of that is borrowing ideas used in 770. I also have yet another group figured out for the story they'll be dealing with. This group is another invention original to the AU.

MEAN

I do not have it figured out yet if this story would be in prose format or comic format. I don't think as a comic it would be a short story and I would prefer not to interrupt working on Loaded Stone again anytime soon. If a comic, it would happen after Loaded Stone along with other stories planned in that format. Right now I'm also still working on Shattered which the other day hit being 90 pages long and it's still some off from being finished. That's not counting the formal proof checking it has yet to pass through.

So if I took on this story focused on UNEASY. Comic or prose format? Also what do you think of it even being pursued?

On note to Shattered, something about it's coming publishing to the site has me deeply concerned. More than once I've published a story to this site and people think what I've posted is simply "artwork". PDF files have preview images. On Chrome and Microsoft Edge you can automatically see it's a file containing text once clicked on. Again I ask what I did at the start to this journal entry. If you've read it, please comment after the fact. This will tell me if my words are being heard.

Lastly here I want to share about an offline matter. ... I want to discover if any of you care about what is going on in my life. I had a doctor appointment the other day. It appears with 99% certainty at some point in the near future I'm going to have a surgery. This could swing in one of two directions I think. Either the removal of an implant or the replacement of it. In either case I expect a lot of pain. If a replacement, I fear the surgery. Years back I was kept awake during the operation for it to be placed in me. The pain during that was excruciating and it didn't matter how many times people tried to numb me up, I still felt everything.

I have a feeling the decision won't be finalized until May 19th. ... I really hope this doctor doesn't pick a certain day in June. You guys know it's cursed and I was in the hospital that day last year.

Deleted Chat

It bothers me this was deleted and makes me wonder if the mod. enjoys their power a little too much. All that is censored here is the name of the person I was talking back an forth with.

This chat took place in a Discord room.

Systemcat Today at 4:47 PM

This has been bothering me for days so here I will get it off my chest what has been on my mind. Two of you I know for a fact saw me lightly write about this matter openly in a journal entry to replies. _ I will gladly take any feedback given to me over my work and I try to encourage that happening. However I consider it wrong to criticize me for making a long in page count literary piece. If it's to your disliking, just remember you were not forced to read it. I admit it was faster to read people's poetry than prose when going over people's DDs. That said I'll add, I bare no ill will at all those those who did write prose works that have gained DD status. One of them I favorited so I could give it the proper read it deserves from me later on.__ When reviewing work and saying thoughts about what you'd see as improvement. I know I am not alone in this opinion. It is considered very impolite to provide your work to the table and saying here is what I consider a good work to be.__ When giving a said overall review of a project. Read the full project before reviewing. Not just a little of it. Frankly, I can always tell when my work has been seen at a glance because that gives misimpressions as to it's content. As said earlier in this post, you weren't forced to read it. Further if my story pacing bothers you, then turn your attention to what you know you enjoy. __ Lastly I'd like to say because of this person's passing glance at what I have done and what I am doing. The fact they think I started on making comics back in 2009. My account on DA has evidence shattered through out it I started making comics long before I joined the online community. __ Starting the first into second week of October 1992. Steady from June 1994 into January 2001. Professional off & on work since January 2000. Webcomic work starting in October 2011 to the present.

Hi, if there's a general discussion you'd like to have about the appropriate boundaries of critique I think there's definitely room to do so in #general, but would prefer we don't go further into subtweeting someone specifically. Thanks for understanding

Systemcat Today at 5:04 PM

Sorry, I didn't know about that.

Do you have the power to move my post to the correct place?

< censored name >Today at 5:06 PM

I don't think it is appropriate as it stands to be honest, as it is specifically targeted

Systemcat Today at 5:06 PM

Also, I do not know from here, who was talking to me on DA.

< censored name >Today at 5:06 PM

If you'd like to start a general discussion re critiques you certainly can

Systemcat Today at 5:06 PM

They were silent in the chat here.

< censored name >Today at 5:07 PM

Let's put it this way, from what you've said I could with not much effort figure out who you're referring to by going on da (assuming the comments aren't hidden). We're not here to take sides between people, especially when they may not have known better

< censored name >Today at 5:08 PM

Talking behind someone's back isn't really appropriate either, although again, valid general discussion about what constitutes helpful critique

Systemcat Today at 5:10 PM

This chat was not on public record but I'd like to think some of what I said can be considered as universal etiquette to good internet behavior.

< censored name >Today at 5:10 PM

I'm going to delete your comment, if you would like to take a moment and save it separately, but feel free to reframe in terms of what you think is generally appropriate and not as a specific response to someone, please.
